Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think will be the subject of our book discussion on Wednesday., Sept. 11, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. For years, Brian Wansink, PhD and his team from Cornell University have studied the environmental cues and habits that undermine our best eating intentions. This book makes the results of their research available to us. It is fun to read, but is full of information for people trying to improve or maintain their health. No wonder so many Americans are at unhealthy weights! No wonder so many children develop bad eating habits! Restaurants and stores use this information to sell more products but now we can use these principles to achieve our own nutritional goals. Willpower is not enough, but there are actually ways to create an environment where you can succeed without thinking about it!
Please join us online at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/693493122836638720 to discuss the book and related ideas. It will be a great discussion. Do join us, even if you can’t finish the book before this session! To participate you’ll need a computer with speakers, Internet connection, and microphone to speak or keyboard to text/chat. (A computer headset is the very best.). If you are a team leader or Outreach Library you may want a computer projector to share this event live, or use the recorded version at a time convenient to your group. Hope to see you there!
